Dear Cher my Final Degree Project framed within the context of contemporary Industrial Design and the role of Sustainability in it. It conducts a research on productive efficiency, analyzes the problems of the furniture industry and tries to respond by proposing a way to design objects from sustainability.
The report presents a journey through the world of chairs or objects to sit on and collects references, analyzes them and draws conclusions to end up designing one by applying the filter of sustainability that has been previously established.
In turn, the report is a collaboration with the outdoor furniture company Kettal; from which international designers are referenced and the panorama of design around the world is drawn.
The result is a chair that follows the design principles of Kettal as well as being desmountable, uses a responsible packaging solution and is fabricated enhancing the maximum efficiency possible.
How objects are packaged is perhaps the most important part of the design process whenever you want to consider the carbon footprint it leaves behind.
For Cher, the backrest and seat are the same piece and the legs are symmetrical. The packaging can be divided into two flat boxes.
